PERRY, Iowa -- A Perry chiropractor is charged with assault after a patient reported him to police.Police said Dan Duffy was charged after the complaint was filed in Dallas County in January. He was charged with simple misdemeanor assault on Aug. 10.According to the complaint, a woman being examined for a back injury was lying on her stomach when Duffy pulled up her shirt to expose her lower back.According to the woman's statement, Duffy began massaging her lower right back and buttocks area. Sometime during the exam Duffy left the exam room. He then returned to the room and stood on the left side of the table. The woman told authorities that at that point she heard Duffy unzip his pants and heard what she described as "masturbating."The woman said that after the exam her mother took her to the police station. A Coralville man was arrested Monday after police say he filmed two women without their knowledge at the Coral Ridge Mall. According to an arrest report, Richard K. Rowell, 66, allegedly reached under the skirts of two different women at two different locations at the mall, 1451 Coral Ridge Ave., and taped them with a camcorder. Police said the victims did not have knowledge that Rowell was filming them. Rowell has been charged with invasion of privacy, a serious misdemeanor. If you have to go to the mall and do this, you watch too much porn.

Marion police caught a Cedar Rapids man with his pants down Monday, but there’s more to the story. On a whim, Robert C. Thomas, 50, decided to strip naked and ride his bicycle through Legion Park in Marion, police said. An officer making a routine check of the trail around 11:20 a.m. made the discovery. Thomas jumped into some weeds and tried to get dressed when he noticed the officer, police said. It was too late. “He was just getting back to nature,” Lt. Scott Elam said. “He said he just wanted to see what it would be like to be naked out in the wild. He was told that this wasn’t a good place to do that.” No one other than the officer witnessed Thomas riding the bike, saving him from an indecent exposure charge. An Iowa City man was arrested after police say he exposed himself to a female co-worker at a Hy-Vee store in Coralville. According to a criminal complaint from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Matthew Keller, 25, asked a co-worker into an employee-only room at Hy-Vee, 1914 8th Street in Coralville, on April 17 to “show her something.” When the woman entered the room, she saw Keller had exposed his genitals. Later the same day, Keller photographed his genitals and sent the images to the co-worker’s cell phone, according to the criminal complaint. Keller has been charged with indecent exposure, a serious misdemeanor. At Hy-vee, where's there's a helpful smile in every employee-only room.

Des Moines police officers were attacked as they waded into a combative crowd outside the gates of the Iowa State Fair Sunday night. Officers sprayed chemical deterrents and deployed a stun gun while trying to gain control. Two teen girls were taken into custody for questioning following the incident. Police administrators announced last week they were stepping up security outside the gates because of a series of attacks and fights on Aug. 14. Similar events unfolded on Sunday, the last night of the fair. Police Sgt. Richard Schuett and reserve Officer Lynn Hubbs both complained of head, neck and back pain after being punched from behind while trying to secure arrests. Several large crowds of people were leaving the fairgrounds. Sgt. Schuett was attempting to make an arrest when someone hit him in the back of the head with a closed fist. An Amana man is in the Johnson County Jail after he allegedly attacked his estranged wife and bit her new boyfriend. Jesse Keith Hill, 30, was arrested early Friday morning for first-degree burglary, domestic abuse and assault causing bodily injury after he allegedly broke into his estranged wife’s Tiffin apartment and attacked her and her new boyfriend. According to the arrest report, Hill kicked in the front door of his wife’s apartment after yelling at her and ringing the door bell several times just before 1 a.m. Once inside, he got into a physical fight with the alleged victims, biting the unidentified boyfriend on his abdomen, taking a small chunk of skin away, and biting his left arm, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said. Hill also struck him in the face, leaving a lump on his cheek, and left a five-inch scratch on his wife’s back and left shoulder during the attack, according to the arrest report.
