An Iowa City woman was arrested Thursday afternoon after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend during an argument. Nina Simone Munson, 21, 2557 Whispering Prairie Ave., was charged with domestic abuse after she allegedly stabbed a man during an argument about 4:15 p.m. Thursday at 2401 Highway 6 East #2434. According to police, the victim said he and Munson were arguing over her wanting to go out with friends, a discussion that turned into an argument about cell phones and a video game system. He said during the argument, Munson grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed him twice in the leg and once in the hand as she yelled at him, police said. He tried to leave the apartment, but she slammed the door on his hand, according to the arrest report. Officers noticed he had two small puncture wounds on his leg and one on his hand, and he also had a swollen hand, police said. FOREST CITY (AP) — Winnebago County authorities say they are holding a Forest City man for alleged attacks on his girlfriend and his former girlfriend with a golf club. Winnebago County Sheriff Doug Jenson says 30-year-old Elgin Richmond was arrested early Sunday evening — about an hour after he fled the trailer court where the alleged assaults occurred. The sheriff identified the assault victims as Jennifer Allen and Jennifer White. He said Richmond and White have a child together, who was at the scene along with some other children. Jenson says a K-9 unit from Hancock County helped his officers locate Richmond, who was hiding about a quarter mile away from the trailer park. Richmond was charged with domestic assault, child endangerment, public intoxication, interference with official acts and violation of a protective order. Just another day in trailer park. Police said an Iowa City man hid from officers for 2 ½ hours after violating a no-contact order. According to criminal complaints, Iowa City Police were called to the area of 700 Foster Road around 2 a.m. Wednesday after receiving a report that 27-year-old Sean M. Cummings was spotted driving near the home of his soon-to-be ex-wife. According to criminal complaints, Cummings was wanted on harassment charges. Police said the harassment charges stem from an incident earlier in June when Cummings called his ex over 40 times and texted her over 25 times within a 5-hour time span. The woman told police she asked Cummings to stop contacting her, but he continued to do so. Cummings allegedly threatened to harm her dog and “run her down” while she was riding her bike. The condom cannot be removed by anyone other than a doctor and will make it difficult if not impossible for the man to walk or urinate. Petitioners hoping to reverse Iowa City's new 21-and-over bar entry age dropped off another stack of signatures at Iowa City Hall in an attempt to force a referendum. Earlier this month, the city clerk's office said that nearly 60 percent of the signatures that petitioners had submitted were invalid, leaving them 1,227 short of the 2,500 needed for a referendum. The petitioners were given 15 days to make up the difference.
